Visa Information

As a General Rule, any foreigner intending to enter Bangladesh requires a Visa from local Bangladesh embassy/Consulate or from the nearest Bangladesh Embassy or Consulate. However, as guidance please follow the information provided below:

  1. Visa Applications
    1. If you require a visa, it is recommended that you apply in advance at the Bangladeshi Embassy or Diplomatic Mission nearby to obtain your visa prior to departure. More information can be found at www.immi.gov.bd or immi.gov.bd/Land-Permit-Eligibility

      The visa application process may take longer in certain countries, therefore, you may consult your local or nearest Bangladeshi embassy or consulate (list of Bangladesh diplomatic missions and their contacts)

    2. The invited guests for the DGCA Conference are requested to submit your visa application along with your personal information, and other documents, such as a copy of Invitation letter for the 58th DGCA Conference.

    3. Visa support letter will be provided upon request. Such request should be sent to secretariat@dgca58.gov.bd in the form of an official letter, from Member States/ International Organizations, containing the personal data of the participants, i.e. full name and designation, date of birth, nationality and passport number.

  2. Visa-On-Arrival Eligibility
    1. Citizens of certain countries where there is no diplomatic Mission of Bangladesh and foreign nationals of Bangladeshi origin may obtain visa on arrival for a period of maximum 30 days at the international airports and land ports of Bangladesh under certain conditions upon examining of their necessary travel documents and on satisfaction of the immigration authority.

    2. Citizens of USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russian Federation, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Brunei and the countries of Europe - only for the purpose of official duty, business, investment and tourism.

    3. Bangladeshi origin foreign citizens, their spouses and offsprings upon proof of their being Bangladeshi origin.

    4. UN passport holders will get visa on arrival free of charge.

  3. Visa-On-Arrival Formalities

    For Visa-On-Arrival, you are requested to submit the printed copies of the following documents:

    1. Completed Visa-On-Arrival Form, click here to download the Form.

    2. Invitation Letter.

    3. Hotel Reservation.

    4. Return Air Ticket.

    5. Payment Slip of Visa processing fee of USD 51 per person to be paid in Cash in foreign currency (US dollar/Pound/Euro) to the Bank in person.

  4. Information regarding Visa Exemption
    1. Official and Diplomatic Passport holders of the following 25 countries are exempted from visa:

      Singapore Vietnam Myanmar Chili Laos
      Belarus Cambodia Philippines Malaysia Kuwait
      Russia Sri Lanka Turkey India China
      Brunei Oman Indonesia Brazil Qatar
      Botswana Kosovo South Korea Serbia Argentina

      List of visa exempt countries

    2. Only Diplomatic Passport holders of Japan and Thailand are exempted from visa.

    3. Any Passport holder of Maldives (Employment Restricted) is exempted from visa.

  5. Visa Facilitation Team
    1. There will be a dedicated Welcome Desk for Visa Facilitation from 13 to 16 October 2023 for participants of the 58th DGCA Conference and their accompanying family members at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka;

    2. The Visa Facilitation Team will be ready at the airport to assist our guests in completing the Visa-On-Arrival Formalities;
